Course Description
This 4 week summer school focuses on the broad area of Telemedicine, which is expected to become an important tool in future healthcare systems. The course is divided into 6 major areas with project work in groups. Each of these areas contributes directly to, or forms a basis for, the design of a telemedicine system. The areas are: Human physiology and pathology; sensor based biomedical measurements and signal preprocessing in an embedded computer system; biomedical signal processing; wired- or wireless communication of measurements; usability of a telemedicine system; clinical analysis and decision. The course will include excursions to a clinical telemedicine center and to a major company within the healthcare area.

Recommended Prerequisites
The participants must have completed a course in programming and first year mathematics. Each participant must bring a laptop computer to the course.
