International academic environment
Every summer Copenhagen University College of Engineering invites international as well as Danish students to attend one or two of our Summer School courses. In 2011 the Summer School programme attracted 300 students from all over the world.

Copenhagen
University College of Engineering (IHK) has organized summer school
programs since 2004. In 2012 we offer a series of courses taught
in English and with a technological and/or market oriented
approach.
2 July - 20 July:
- Mobile Communications and m-Commerce
- From Local to Global Business
- Satellite Technology and Communication
- Game Theory (new course)
2 July - 27 July:
30 july - 24 August:
- International Engineering Project
- International Design & Development
- Cross-Cultural Management & Marketing
- Health Care Technology (partly new course)
- International Sustainable Energy System (new course)
Prospective students
The Summer School programme is open to:
- International students interested in summer studies at IHK
- IHK students
- Danish students from other institutions of higher education
- Graduates and professionals seeking to further develop their knowledge and skills
Tuition fee
The following categories of prospective students can participate on a non tuition fee basis:
- IHK students taking a Summer School course as a pre-approved elective course
- Students from other Danish universities with a study board approval of credit transfer
- Students who have been nominated to participate in the IHK Summer School program 2012 by an IHK partner university all over the world
- Students within the EU/EEC from non-partner universities who have a pre-approval of credit transfer for the Summer School program 2012 from their home university
There are two different categories of tuition fee paying students:
- Students, graduates and professionals with citizenship of an EU/EEC country who do not have a pre-approval of credit transfer from a university pay a tuition fee of 200 DKK per ECTS, e.g. 1500 DKK (about 200 euro) per course of 7.5 ECTS
- Students from outside the EU/EEC who are not nominated to participate in the program by an IHK partner pay a tuition fee of 1666 DKK per ECTS, e.g. 12500 DKK (about 1666 euro) per course of 7.5
The deadline for payment of tuition fee is 15 May 2012.
Duration
The duration of each Summer School course
is either three or four weeks.

ECTS credits
The Summer School courses count either 7.5 og 10 ECTS.

Application
Deadline for all courses is 28 March 2012.
Application forms
It is compulsory to fill in both Application form and Learning
agreement. It is also compulsory to attach/upload a transcript of
records and documentation of english skills.
Admission criteria
Admission is conditioned by fulfillment of academic requirements, documented English skills and adequate national diversity. Applicants from our partner institutions have first priority.
As a general rule, applicants must have completed at least two years of Higher Education.

Admission proces
As soon as we have received your application, we will confirm by-email that we have received all the relevant documents.
On 24 April 2012 all applicants will be informed if they are
admitted, on a waiting list or not admitted.
Visa requirements
Please check the following link to the Danish Immigration services to see whether or not you need to apply for a tourist visa www.nyidanmark.dk
Students who are citizens in the EU/EEC or Nordic countries do not need a tourist visa.
Students with a nationality that need a visa to enter Denmark but are residing in a Schengen country at the time of the Summer School program can stay in Denmark for up to 90 days provided their Schengen visa is valid for the whole period in question.
Students outside of these two categories may need a tourist visa to enter Denmark, depending on their nationality. If you need a tourist visa, you should apply BEFORE LEAVING HOME to the Danish embassy/consulate in your home country as soon as possible, as the process at the Danish Immigration Services may last up to three months to approve a visa application.
Accommodation
We are able to arrange accommodation during a specific course period in student residence halls or private accommodation depending on availability. The price range is DKK 2,250 - 3,300, approx. 300-440 euro.
If you arrive in Copenhagen earlier than the first course date and/or leave later than the last course date, please make a reservation at a youth hostel or at a hotel.

If you take two courses we can arrange accommodation in the entire
period from 2 July 2 – 24 August.
The application forms contain a request form for accommodation.
Deposit:
We will charge you a refundable deposit which is half of one month's
rent.
Payment deadline is 15 May 2012.
Certificate
An official certificate from Copenhagen University College of Engineering will be awarded after successful completion of the course.
Other activities
Our Summer School programme includes social activities, such as a welcome party and a guided tour around Copenhagen.
Some of our summer school courses also include one or two company visits.
Language of instruction
English - recommended level: TOEFL 550/IELTS 6.5
Students must be able to communicate adequately in English in writing as well as orally.
Class Schedule
The class schedule is normally from 9 am to 3 pm Monday-Friday. On the last day Friday 20 July / 27 July or 24 August, we finish at 2 pm including an End-of-Summer-School Celebration.

Summer School for graduates and professionals
Graduates and professionals are most welcome to apply for our summer school courses.
Tuition fee for graduates and professionals
EU/EEC-citizens graduates are welcome to
participate on a tuition fee basis and will be charged the same rate as
Danish Open University students, which is currently DKK 1,500 (approx.
200 EURO) per course of 7.5 ECTS.
Citizens from outside the EU/EEC countries can apply to participate as
a non-European tuition fee paying free-mover. The tuition fee is DKK
12,500 (approx. 1,660 EURO) per course of 7.5 ECTS.
